EMDR Therapy
Reprocessing the past so it no longer runs the present
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based therapy that helps the brain and body resolve the impact of difficult experiences. Rather than talking about a memory, EMDR allows your nervous system to finish the processing it couldn’t complete at the time of the event. When that happens, the emotions and sensations that once felt overwhelming begin to soften.
You remember what happened, but it stops feeling like it’s still happening today.
How EMDR Works
Trauma, loss, and chronic stress can disrupt the brain’s natural way of integrating experiences. EMDR uses gentle bilateral stimulation such as eye movements, tapping, or sound to activate both sides of the brain while recalling aspects of a memory.
This process helps connect thoughts, emotions, and body sensations so your system can re-organize the experience in a healthier way.
Many people describe it as their body finally “catching up” with what their mind already knows: it’s over, and you’re safe now.
What EMDR Can Help With
Trauma and post-traumatic stress
Anxiety and panic
Grief and complicated loss
Childhood or attachment wounds
Burnout, perfectionism, or feeling “stuck”
Performance and confidence issues
You don’t have to identify as having “big-T” trauma to benefit. EMDR can support anyone who feels their reactions are bigger than the moment they’re in.

My Approach to EMDR
I integrate EMDR with mindfulness and body awareness to help you feel grounded and supported throughout the process. We’ll move at a pace that feels right for you, emphasizing safety, compassion, and connection at every step. My background in grief work, family systems, and somatic therapy helps me bring a whole-person perspective to EMDR addressing not only what happened, but how your body has been carrying it.
What to Expect
Each person’s journey is unique, but most notice a growing sense of calm, clarity, and resilience as the work unfolds. EMDR is about more than revisiting the past it’s about freeing up the energy that’s been locked there, so you can live with greater ease and presence. Here’s a bit of what you can expect:
Preparation: Together we’ll establish resources for grounding and regulation so you feel supported before beginning reprocessing.
Targeting: You’ll identify memories, beliefs, or sensations connected to current distress.
Reprocessing: Using bilateral stimulation, I will guide you through gentle sets that allow new insights and relief to emerge naturally.
Integration: The session closes with reflection, stabilization, and practical tools to maintain balance between meetings.
